The Lake Zurich High School Orchestra department consists of three curricular orchestras (Concert Orchestra, Philharmonic Orchestra, and Symphony Orchestra) and two after school ensembles (Bear Strings and Sinfonietta). The Orchestras frequently participate in festivals, and travel every three years. In 2023 the Symphony Orchestra was invited to perform at the Illinois Music Educators Conference. Symphony Orchestra was also featured on Chicago’s classical music radio station, WFMT, on the show Introductions performing works by Rhiannon Giddens and Reena Ismael.  The orchestras are directed by Nathan Sackschewsky. The Lake Zurich middle schools are lead by Christopher Monzel at Middle School North and Ron Polomchak at Middle School South. The elementary orchestra teachers are: Elizabeth Duke, Andra Kulans, and Mary Reitsma.
